The two individual works ‘Solaris’ and ‘Return from the Stars’ by author Stanisław Lem were designed as a series of books. The visual design thematises the feeling of alienation in relation to space that is familiar from the science fiction genre to which the novels belong.

Both books are bound in covers with a silvery textured surface. The design of the book covers consists of the names of the respective novels, which can be seen generously and in unique letters on the cover. In terms of colour, the shiny silvery typography stands out from the paper of the covers and thus supports the mystical feeling that is inherent to the genre.
To visually emphasise the narrative character of the author, the ‘Courier’ font was used for the inside pages. In addition, the dialogues of the stories were moved out, thus visually ensuring a dynamic reading flow.
